Cast Your Vote, Then Cast Your Cares on God

It’s Election Day in the United States, but if you’re like me you won’t be electing anybody.  It’s not because I’m unpatriotic, apathetic, or a conscientious objector.  I moved.  Yep, I changed the location of my home and simply didn’t register my new digs fast enough.  This year I’m watching from the sideline.  The truth is even when I’ve voted in past elections I felt like a drip in the desert; unable to make a significant change to the political climate around me.

As a follower of the King of kings there is a greater truth to keep in mind.

Daniel 2:21(NIV)

He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others.  He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.

God is in control!  When you cast your vote don’t forget to cast your cares on God.  He alone is sovereign.  There is no reason to waste your time fretting over politics.

1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

If you hear family, friends, or co-workers grumbling about the outcome of elections, share this great truth with them.  God is the king of the universe!  Everything is going to be fine.

      1. Truly HE does, I’m constantly astounded–and one day HE asked me, “why do you always think that the last good thing I did for you, is the last one?” That was when I fully comprehended how much HE loves me/us 🙂

      2. And also, many of us grew up believing in a harsh, angry God–so, to relearn and feed on the Truth of His Love and Goodness takes time ❤ Praying BIG Blessings are about to be delivered to you and your family!!

      3. Have you read the book, The Sacrament of Happy (What a Smiling God Brings to a Wounded World), by Lisa Harper? She is a very humorous and real, well-studied author/speaker. Part of the group who, like the pastor you quote, are showing us the character of God we might have missed seeing. HE’s in a good mood everyday, definitely!
